Backflow

IGF (Independent Games Festival) nominated casual puzzle/action game, developed based on academic research conducted at the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Game Labs.

Players are required to direct the flow of various object types along increasingly complex pipe networks, in order to deposit them correctly to their respective repositories.

Role & Work

Principal designer, responsible for general game direction, level designs, gameplay balancing, and playtesting.

Covered for programmer and artist (both of whom were freelancers who worked off-site) with minor code and art related tasks and deliverables, such as level scripting and placeholder art.

Created and maintained design documentation for various aspects of game, including general game design, feature & asset lists, design templates, and flow diagrams.

Managed Apple development permissions and provisioning profiles for entire team.

Worked with student interns to create promotional website, and authored all text and descriptions throughout.
